Encounters in Welcome Area pt. 13/Total Babylon

Lapsing into Babylonese

Soy met a German wearing the same necklace which somehow sparked Babylonese.

Jan: can i help you...
Soy: sorry, just looking at your necklace
Soy: i collect those
Jan: ist a same to your
Soy: yes
Jan: you obtain a VIENA Freebes
Soy: non
Jan: you Know?
Soy: que?
Jan: i donunderstand to many spanisch
Soy: was?
Jan: ok ja
Soy: negative
Soy: yo
Soy: wassup?
Jan: ich verstehe dich nicht
Soy: wassup?
Jan: go way plase

Later Soy met Aribella and asked her to listen to some sounds from his Inventory. She declined.
Aribella: I can't soy
Soy: why can't?
Aribella: because I'm so cold I need the heater on...and I have to have the door open for that, and it's early Saturday morning...
Aribella : ok, that was kinda long-winded
Soy: what??

Soy had to admit, he'd heard a lot of excuses as to why women had their speakers off, but that was the first time he'd heard of speakers off due to heaters in the cold, especially since it was summer.

Soy: it's summer
Aribella Lafleur: it's winter
Soy: no, it's summer
Nezz: AH HAHAHAHA

It was (finally) established that in her part of the world it was winter, while in Soy's it was summer.

As a stoner, Soy couldn't resist a proposition:

"I want to get high where I'm currently at in summer, if you'll join me by getting drunk where you are at in winter."

Second Life/Neighbor LaeMi

You wouldn't believe what happened tonight. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures. So let me tell you about it.
LaeMi was home, right? (She's the Australian who lives next door.) Anyway, she's home or visiting (I couldn't tell) for the first time in about a week (in my world at least/in my time).
And I was glad to see her.
And she was busy as usual with one of her many projects. LaeMi and a gal pal were standing in the swamp overlooking... I couldn't tell... A fire? Gas bubbles? When I got closer I saw it was a circle and they were making it open and shut. I heard one of them call it "Hal." Then I knew they were reenacting the famous Hal-Pod-Bay-Door scene from 2001. Wow!
The swamp can be used for all sorts of things... LaeMi turned it into a Kubrick showpiece.
I forgot to tell LaeMi about the episode with the swamp creature from days earlier.
(Or at least I forgot to tell her most of it.)
(She heard faint details. I hinted around. I was sketchy.)
(She can read all about it here though...)

Her friend--Torrid--eventually had to leave so LaeMi and I went exploring more of her swamp. At one point LaeMi started going wild with concrete and building all sorts of stuff, and at first it was kinda fun but later I was getting claustrophobic because of all the walls she kept building.
Finally I couldn't take it anymore and popped to the surface.
And those were literal walls she was building--because LaeMi announced she was making a missile silo!
Of all things.

Second Life/Green Swamp

My property has a spectacular view of the ocean. It also has a green swamp bordering it.

Today I investigated the swamp.

You may be interested to know this swamp has its very own swamp creature.

If you get too close you may fall in and the swamp creature can eat you. I got 'eaten' today.

Inside the swamp creature it was pure pink, like a vulva, and its upper walls were ringed with moving tentacles. The neighbor lady who owned it-- she was an Australian by the way--I figured it was her way of getting back at men by letting them occasionally fall into this fantastic orifice.

There was no way out. Luckily I was able to chat loudly enough for a Brazilian buddy who was standing nearby to hear me.
After some urging, he joined me inside the swamp creature to help find a way out. It was a surreal experience, swimming side-by-side with this Brazilian guy inside a pink swampy Australian-made thing until we finally escaped from the blow hole.
The world is getting smaller, indeed.
