SL/Something happened (damned if I know what)

Here I am full throttle with my new outfit, an ape.
I hung out at the nite clubs, and danced, as usual, but something was bothering me--something I couldn't put my finger on. Then I recalled what happened! It happened at my other property this morning, the property next to the swamp...the property I seldom visit. A long time ago for some reason I built a black monolith there and abandoned it. I honestly forgot all about it. Then this morning I went there inexplicably. I'm not sure what happened after that, but I do remember seeing the monolith. Since then I've had a nagging feeling that I shouldn't be hanging out at the clubs anymore. I will let you know what happens.

SL/Attempt to locate Swamp Monster pt. 2

/
/
/
I went to Pappy Enoch's "office," expecting to find him there, but he wasn't in. Pappy's yard was basically empty; only his junk remained.
/
I invited Yetrates over for a quick stakeout.
It wasn't Pappy we were after, necessarily, it was the swamp monster he's been blogging about.
Pappy's been describing a swamp monster that's been harassing him and he's offered $100L for its pic (and to prove he hasn't been oversampling his own moonshine).
Speaking of shine, we found plenty of evidence that Pappy left in a hurry.

I didn't want to get near his still-hot still, though, for fear of boobytrappment. Although I did notice a sign welcoming "Stew-dints."

Out of the corner of my eye I saw water, then movement. I told Yet to turn around, expecting to see a swamp (and a swamp monster); instead we saw dolphins. I told Yetrates it was not out of the realm of possibilities to see dolphins in a swamp.
It was dark out, and we couldn't tell for sure, but Yetrates assured me we were looking at the ocean.
I reminded her that the Gulf-of-Mexico has about a million dolphins in it, and feeding into the Gulf is the Everglades, so it's very possible that dolphins could end up in a swamp.
I suggested we find out. The boat wasn't working, though, which led to brief stoner talk:

[16:21] Yetrates Bates: touch them to swim ike that
[16:21] Patric Styrian: i wouldn't dare touch a dolphin, would you?
[16:22] Yetrates Bates: it would be awwsome to swim whit them
[16:22] Yetrates Bates: bare naked
[16:22] Yetrates Bates: hha
[16:22] Patric Styrian: i am 3 miles from dolphins
[16:22] Patric Styrian: i get naked
[16:22] Yetrates Bates: damn lucky you
[16:22] Patric Styrian: damn me?
[16:23] Patric Styrian: you get to smoke dope legally in Holland
[16:23] Patric Styrian: damn you

SL/Spanish surrealism

A new friend, Waelya, invited me to her shop. While at the shop I invited my other friend, Ulises, to come by. As I was introducing those two, I realized that they were both from Spain. Naturally, they were delighted to hear this, so they began speaking in Spanish.
I politely asked that they continue to talk in English in front of me (which they did).
/
Later, Ulises remarked that he hadn't seen me at the pool lately, and I explained that since Milo has been a stud lately, we have been invited to a lot of clubs lately.

[9:43] Ulises Snook: what is a stud?
[9:43] Patric: a suave, cool individual, usually a man
...
Pappy sent out a challenge to locate this swamp monster and get a photo with it. The name of the monster had at one time been "Beeble Baxter" (when it was a Furry). But now that it was a monster, it was no longer a 'he,' apparently, and it was also without a name. So we'll just call it 'swamp monster.'
I let Ulises study Pappy's blog, thinking a Spaniard trying to decipher a hillbilly's dialect to locate a monster on Second Life was too good an opportunity to pass up.
To my surprise, Ulises had no trouble understanding Pappy's patois, and even suggested a few places we might find the monster.

[9:55] Ulises Snook: i get it
[9:55] Ulises Snook: i speak southern spanish
[9:55] Ulises Snook: :)
[9:55] Ulises Snook: so
[9:55] Ulises Snook: are looking for the swamp or waht?

[9:56] Ulises Snook: the swamp must be in a place with sea
[9:57] Ulises Snook: and cold
[9:57] Ulises Snook: that is what i think

...
The only swamp I know on Second Life belongs to my neighbor, LaeMi. She even has a swamp monster inhabiting it. I don't know if those two monsters would get along, though. But I can't rule it out.

Mom

Jenny introduced me to her mom (her REAL LIFE mom) named Sandi. Of course, Sandi and I got along famously, she being 45 and I being 39. Her job, she told me, was encouragement: she only shows up on Second Life to encourage her daughter--Jenny the builder. She is the official cheerleader of Jenny's company, ComPany. "ComPany Mom" is her title. She runs around on a unicycle, doing laps around her daughter who's building, shouting encouragement. It is quite a setup. Here is a picture of Jenny busy building, and Waeyla busy building, while Mom looks on from her unicycle.

This encounter causes me to get separated from the girls. I call out to them.
...!!...
Oh, there is LaeMi.

Nope. It's an ultra-realistic version of LaeMi on screen.

I activated it somehow.

It is a kaleidoscope of LaeMi and some of her projects.

Second Life/Picture-rama

I barely got any sleep last night so I think I'll make it short on descriptions today and long on pictures.

Here is a (very) enchanted castle.

Chillin at the castle.

Back home at the swamp.
What's this? A new sign from LaeMi?

o

Investigating her swamp. Here's a new area:

A shopping cart at the very bottom?
(I think the swamp makes an ideal final resting place for a lost shopping cart. )

Near home there is a spooky-looking church.

Almost like the Bates' Motel.

I did something wrong and ended up underneath the church, not in the church.

You can see my head poking through the floor.

This hasn't happened in a while.

It wouldn't be a problem but the noise was overpowering. Choking noises...
Ghoulish noises...

Animal noises...
Unidentifiable noises...
I could operate the camera controls but not my body.

I couldn't escape the noises.

Second Life/Molly the Corpse

LaeMi has a friend named Molly who makes a wonderful corpse. Molly came over and did her best "dead" impressions. She and LaeMi belong to some kind of troupe which stages crime scenes. Molly promptly got on her back, closed her eyes, floated over to the swamp, and laid in repose for several minutes.
I didn't know whether to clap or cover her up.
Molly has tremendous legs, I must say. Is it wrong to stare at a person's legs if they are giving a bravura death performance?
This is a question I must ponder.

Second Life/Neighbor LaeMi

You wouldn't believe what happened tonight. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures. So let me tell you about it.
LaeMi was home, right? (She's the Australian who lives next door.) Anyway, she's home or visiting (I couldn't tell) for the first time in about a week (in my world at least/in my time).
And I was glad to see her.
And she was busy as usual with one of her many projects. LaeMi and a gal pal were standing in the swamp overlooking... I couldn't tell... A fire? Gas bubbles? When I got closer I saw it was a circle and they were making it open and shut. I heard one of them call it "Hal." Then I knew they were reenacting the famous Hal-Pod-Bay-Door scene from 2001. Wow!
The swamp can be used for all sorts of things... LaeMi turned it into a Kubrick showpiece.
I forgot to tell LaeMi about the episode with the swamp creature from days earlier.
(Or at least I forgot to tell her most of it.)
(She heard faint details. I hinted around. I was sketchy.)
(She can read all about it here though...)

Her friend--Torrid--eventually had to leave so LaeMi and I went exploring more of her swamp. At one point LaeMi started going wild with concrete and building all sorts of stuff, and at first it was kinda fun but later I was getting claustrophobic because of all the walls she kept building.
Finally I couldn't take it anymore and popped to the surface.
And those were literal walls she was building--because LaeMi announced she was making a missile silo!
Of all things.

Second Life/Green Swamp

My property has a spectacular view of the ocean. It also has a green swamp bordering it.

Today I investigated the swamp.

You may be interested to know this swamp has its very own swamp creature.

If you get too close you may fall in and the swamp creature can eat you. I got 'eaten' today.

Inside the swamp creature it was pure pink, like a vulva, and its upper walls were ringed with moving tentacles. The neighbor lady who owned it-- she was an Australian by the way--I figured it was her way of getting back at men by letting them occasionally fall into this fantastic orifice.

There was no way out. Luckily I was able to chat loudly enough for a Brazilian buddy who was standing nearby to hear me.
After some urging, he joined me inside the swamp creature to help find a way out. It was a surreal experience, swimming side-by-side with this Brazilian guy inside a pink swampy Australian-made thing until we finally escaped from the blow hole.
The world is getting smaller, indeed.
