SL/Encounters in Welcome Area pt. 22/random sights

The wound on his back was visible from across the patio.
Upon further inspection it was just a fresh tattoo.
Here is a woman jumping onto a man's back. The man had been bragging non-stop for hours. It finally got him to stop.
This gentleman was Editing his Appearance incautiously during severe lag so this is what happened to him.
A little feller showed up.
The little feller metamorphosed into a Ron Paul supporter.

It got the ball rolling. Here is another guy with a Ron Paul shirt.

SL/Encounters in Welcome Area pt. 11/adding another Twin to the mix

Fog Tenk a had "I HATE LAG" title over his head, yet Soy saw him march into the ground and resurface ten seconds later, doing a perfect "lag walk" (by anyone's standards) in spite of his title.

After complimenting him on his lag, Soy invited Fog to sit down for awhile to reduce it.

"Sometimes a lack of movement is just what the doctor ordered."

Meanwhile, twin Wilson was chanting on and on beside them, copying-and-pasting from whatever website he found interesting. Then a third twin showed up, whose name did not get written down--unfortunately--and doing what they all do at first (and forevermore) which is mess with their hair.
He messed with it so much you can see in this photograph that it completely got removed from his scalp.

He is lucky, because here is a pic of it firmly back in place.
Maybe he didn't want to mess with it anymore, because here he is with most of it shorn off.

"Shame on you for shorning," Soy told him.

It went beyond shorning, though.
Could it be??

"OMg is that a baldspot," Soy wrote, forgetting all exclamation marks.

SL/Encounters in Welcome Area pt.7/robot closecall

Near the Welcome Area was a giant robot.
Soy tried to warn the villagers. He shouted: "someone let loose a robot. If that's your robot on the loose, please claim it"
The robot ducked behind a tree.
Soy shouted: "that robot is trying to hide in the foliage"
Then he shouted: "we have a robot on the loose, Sector D"
He shouted: "the robot's movements are being hamstrung by lag"
Atharva Rossini: "Where dat robot"

Atharva Rossini: "looked mighty big to mee"

Soy shouted: "Sector D"

Atharva Rossini: "are we safe in here?"

Soy shouted: "yes, by 2 feet"

SL/Concierge

I love playing Hotel Concierge. When Journey the dog came into the lobby, I was able to inform him that his Master had come looking for him, and to have a nice night.
One lady wanted to be teleported four times...and I arranged every one of them for her.
Another guy was so tired of flying, he had to check in for the night. I put him in a special chamber first, where no light was allowed in, and zero sound, so his lag would disappear. Once he settled down, I showed him to his room.
One lad I had to chew out because he did not understand the concept of "tipping."
One lass was broke and needed a room, so I paid her $50L to get us one.

I learned the concierge oath: "Every customer has needs, and so do we all."

SL/Donors for Lag Sufferers

I think there should be a central facility in SL where one can donate excess kilobyte-age to lag sufferers who need it. I would gladly share parts of me to those in need.

I can't possibly be using every bit (byte?) of me so why not give it to someone who can use it?

For someone on a clogged pipe, it could mean the difference between life and death.

Second Life/Overheard

Safety-first:
"For lag, I need an animation of getting on all fours and crawling around."

The quote heard round the world:
"I want to have sex with every single person in SL before leaving."

Gambling Tip:
"Whenever I feed the sploder I whisper some mumbo jumbo and try not to get too tense."

SL/Smokeable ideas/

Hey-Back Machine

In a busy club the 'heys' may come fast and furious. Eliminate hard feelings (or confusion) by automatically typing 'hey' to anyone who offers you one--no matter how faint they are. Never miss 'heys' again!

Nude Shopping

Who will be the first entrepeneur to open up a discount food chain exclusively for nude shoppers?

Video

I watched (and watched) the best, trippiest, coolest, most intersting SL video last night and today. If This is Second Life Why is My Heart Breaking in Real Life

Stairway to Chicken

I saw this dude building this spiral staircase that was his homage to chicken.

Second Life/Tentacle Garden

Following LaeMi down a tunnel.

l
l
"Don't be shy."
l

The tunnel leads to a distant room.
Yetrates is there as well.

A pod from a landmark movie.
l
Our attention is diverted to another door--a locked door.

l
When you see a tanning bed the first thing you should do (without thinking) is climb in .

Except when it isn't a tanning bed.

James Bond ain't got nothing on me.

Closing my eyes will help.

After escaping (and forgiving) we head to a skybox where LaeMi owns a tentacle garden.

"Be careful where you step," I'm told.
Before I could do anything LaeMi is on ground giving birth.

Out pops a spider.

A funny looking spider.

With tentacles.
Speaking of tentacles, LaeMi doesn't watch her step.

(We'd stood by earlier as LaeMi searched frantically for her spider.)

Now she's sampled by her own creation.

UFO or Lag
Milorad and I were having a conversation when something hit him.

From then on he could only walk in place.

And not say anything...

A UFO in background?
l
I blame the UFO or lag.

SL/4:20/411

Overheard...

"We had a bump and grind down at the Bach-Beethoven affair."

"I'm going to host an event where only good-looking bodies are allowed in pool."

Marketing Idea:
Perrier should get involved with SL because of all the beverages people walk around with. No one wants to see a Coke can at a party yet the sight of a classy Perrier bottle could make a big difference...

Song Title:

I Accidentally Right-Clicked the Wrong Person.

Lag Helper

I was chatting with someone on dance floor, and she's all the way across floor and I couldn't make her out. The crowd and the lag were making it impossible.
Suddenly, there's this laser in my face: She's beaming this red ruby light into my eyes from across the way. I see her now. She's holding laser pointer and (I think) smiling.
Turns out, it was an excellent device for aiding someone in laggy conditions.

SL/

FREE (stoner) TIPS FOR ENTREPENOURS: to earn money, have them sweep around a metal detector and win random amounts.

Have search lights on your dance floor instead of regular lights, and when you look up there's guard towers.

ETHIQUESTION (Ethical question of the day): Upon entering a location, sometimes lag will cause you to not rez
someone in a timely fashion. Sometimes I see women without hair. I definitely see women without makeup. Is it wrong to take pics during this time? Is it unethical?

Second Life/No Lag

A gentleman was dancing, and by the time I saw what he was carrying he had a girl clinging to his waist.

We were fortunate enough to have a giraffe on the dance floor.
A giraffe, a banana, Snoopy, and an attractive girl with giant fingers poking out of her back all on the same dance floor.

More giraffes show up, including an elephant.

Even more giraffes show up!

The giraffes are obviously having a good time.

A wolf on the dance floor. Uh oh.

Guess who it's got its eyes on?

A guy with a burning sombrero gets a little too close to one of the giraffes, which backs off.

The gentleman with the No Lag sign is holding a sparkler which may or may not be causing lag.

All the animals are paying attention to it.
