SL/Good Night pt. 3

Tonight marks the third night I've shown up at this place, and here he is again. This time he's wearing a suit. Meanwhile, his seatmate's beard has grown out a little.

If my calculations are correct, they've earned about $50L, just by sitting there, and eventually they'll go somewhere else where they can earn money standing up.

I once was at a dance hall where you got paid to dance, and the longer you danced, the more money you got. If you went on a break, however, or stopped dancing for whatever reason, you lost all your earnings. You literally had to keep dancing non-stop for 10 hours before they paid you. One couple I saw was into their seventh or eighth hour dancing, and you could tell they were tired. He kept calling her by different names. She stopped using her space bar altogether so her words cametogetherlikethis. I don't know if they finished or not because I was forced to drop out after the first hour because a bot asked me a surprise question while I was away visiting the fridge, and because I didn't answer, I got disqualified by the bot, who assumed I was using a script to stay "alive" in Second Life while sneaking away in real life. Does that make sense? I appealed to the owners of the club to see if I could get my hour back, and they said "no," that I would have to start all over again, and to answer any questions the bot should ask me.

Someone asked me what was the question was, and I said I had no idea. The bot just told me I was "busted" for not answering its question.

When I inquired what the question was, the bot just looked at me.

To me, it seems like bots don't like answering questions themselves.

SL/Dot Matrix

I am a follower of the green dots. Green dots represent people in Second Life when you use the map. I use the map to find nearby green dots a lot. I can never remember where the gay club is in my neighborhood, but there is one, and occasionally I click on green dots and teleport there, accidentally. Not intentionally, mind you: accidentally. I've also learned not to panic as I've done in the past and cause a disturbance. I just get out of the club as quickly as possible, green dots or not. All green dots look alike in Second Life. There are no shiny ones.
There are no dull ones either.
So, if you see a green dot on a map, it could mean a gay guy, a straight girl, a furry, a straight guy, or a gay furry. Or any combination. All green dots are considered equal.

With that in mind...

This is me (accidentally) in the gay club last night, as an elephant, trying to leave without causing a ruckus. Before leaving, I thought I'd make a quick splash in the hot tub, to show my solidarity. Which turned out to be a mistake, because I was joined by two fellows, who asked me all kinds of questions, and I was basically all wrinkly by the time I left, including my trunk.

SL/402/Motion Sickness

Several times Yetrates has invited me to watch her race cars. She has a thing about racing, whereas I'm more of a spectator. Yesterday, she informed me she had won a big race. Today, she wanted me to join her at the race track--again.

In honor of today's holiday, I told her: "Only if I can bet on your car."
---

Earlier, I had brought my club (and balls) to a futuristic/fantastic dance club that Angie introduced me to called "'Inspire' Space Spark club."

The floors actually rotate as you revolve around the planets.
My goal was to knock a ball into Venus.
There were so many poseballs that my ball ended up getting lost.

About that time the moon rotated into view.
I told Yetrates I had one more ball left...that it was just for her...and to not say a goddamned word.

It sliced to the left.

This is me trying to launch myself off the dance floor while Yetrates holds me back. /
Later in the car you can see my club sticking out.

SL/420/Literary

"Chapter One, verse one"

"I grabbed her by the arm before she had a chance to walk into the club. 'Wait!' I pleaded. 'Your hair hasn't rezzed yet.'"

SL/Overheard

"We had a club where we only accepted fat avatars.
It was liberating and exclusive."

"My avatar was a stud, but couldn't compete with the dude who looked like Ben Franklin from the $100 bill."

SL/Live chatter

Overheard in a busy park:

SabrinaM: DONT KNOW WHAT i AM DOING YET
SabrinaM: YES i AM WONDERING AROUND and figuring it out as I go
dirkL: If you wander around don't accidentally bump into me
dirkL: I got pushed off a cliff by sightseers on Newbie Island

Also in busy park:

VioletB: stell Dir den mal vor im Supermarkt
derA: Where do all these Germans come from suddenly?
MercyT: usa
You: lol

In same park, looking for benchmate in a throng of nationalities:

FlipK: if you are german sit on the left side of me, dutch on the right
Later:
FlipK: i am from USA and if you are from canada please sit next to me

Invite:

Seargent C: Hey your guys big party at my club want to come
dirkL: are you serious, sarge?
Seargent C: teleport there and go to second floor
dirkL: every time i've attended a big party everyone there is medium height

At house, looking for way to earn easy money:

BrianP: I want to find change in that sofa

At function on stage:

LeeAnnK: She crashed, I think
JoadMa: Send out rescue party

SL/420/Misc.

Ponderable...
Would you feel comfortable in a dance club if a hot-looking girl compliments you and you know it could have something to do with her being an escort?

Advantages of being in a Bar with Zero Gravity:
Dancing could be dangerous. Bodies would literally slam against each other--which is the culmination I think of the dance craze.
Drinks would animate so when you tried to drink them the liquid would gush upwards.
Sex would probably be a challenge, since you'd likely have to rope your partner in.

Attending 'Jewish Shabbat Around the World.'
The event was attended by the dapper Avram.

It was a candle lighting ceremony bringing in the sabbath between the eastern and western halves of the USA.

The last thing I expected to see was a horse.

This elegant uniformed horse.

Second Life/Joint jousting
It was a battle of the joints as Jordan produced this massive one.

He was so stoned he kept trying to hit me into left dance field.

Whenever he 'connected,' the tip of his joint would blend into mine. So: If the tip of your joint becomes tie-dyed you are presumably extra extra sensory.
Here he is with a more reasonable one.

Before any of this started.

I always prefer to get dressed up in a dance bubble before entering club.

That way you're fairly protected.

Those are huge speakers behind me.

I had to break out of the bubble for about a minute to do the one thing all guys would love to do if given the chance: make love to their speakers.

Back inside.

SL/Dance Bubble Etiquette

Is it wrong to walk around with your dance bubble, taking the chance that you might envelop a dance partner against her wishes?
---
Once inside the dance bubble, should your dance partner dance the same kind of dance as you? For instance: if you dance Moroccan and she dances Club dance #3, the chances are greater one of you will get knocked out of the bubble. This is due to the kinetic relationship of hips banging into other hips. If you are dancing synchronously, however, both of you tend to stay in the bubble.
---
Is it polite to smoke in the bubble? Even in a non-smoking establishment, you should have the right to smoke within your bubble. Especially if you inhale and smoke responsibly.

Second Life/L Word World

It was strange seeing the militia show up in the The L Word (Showtime) area.

The dude almost hit an angel!

Is it any wonder some women prefer the company of women?

The tank shortly before it disintegrated.

Standing in front of The L Word Club...a club I'm not sure I'm permitted entry.

I spend time outside with a girl.

Elsewhere...
Talking with someone named Boz. Boz said this house belongs to his real life neighbor and he uses it as a crashpad whenever he's in SL.
!!!!
Nearby is a gigantic cube covered with a galaxy of stars and inside is a discotheque. The cube can be transported from place to place. It is a mobile disco, if you like. "If you hire the DJ he brings the disco."
This is a house I floated over to because it was releasing hearts into the atmosphere.

I asked aloud who was responsible, and someone inside yelled he was pumping out all the hearts.

He said he was showing the world his love for his sweetheart.

I imagine Valentine's Day will be something else in SL.

Second Life/Hooters/Help Island

I attended an Event and wandered to a nearby park and discovered a camper who was literally turning blue in the face.

On Help Island you never know what you're gonna get.

The locals are a wild bunch.

Here are a bunch of picketers.

There's a small disturbance as a dragon appears out of nowhere.

Some of the picketers are caught off guard

A few don't make it.

Later, when things are much calmer I take my first hot air balloon ride.

The owner/pilot is named Hans.

(...Checking out my smoke contrails...)

Along the way someone else joins us for a ride.

His name is Maxwell.

Is he...green?

At Hooters 'n' Shooters an elegant looking fellow named Castor awaits competition for a gothic-themed event.

And here is Elle, a girl I've been visiting at this same club.

She's a beautiful person.
And she has an excellent job.
