Christmas Day/Night

If you look closely, in this empty diner, you can see me sitting by myself.
I wasn't sure if I could seat myself, though, since there was no waitress around.
I'd stumbled across the diner in the lovely Doll City sim.
It had been a hectic Christmas...
Earlier, I helped JT and Ulises out by letting them stay at my house. Except I didn't have room. But then I had an idea: I would stack another house on top of mine. Now there was plenty of room!

Before that, we all were at Pappy's place, and Pappy waited until we were loaded up in his truck to inform us that he himself had been 'loading up' all day! Thank god his truck didn't have a transmission, or we would have ended up in the ocean.
This is me--as a monkey--in Pappy's outhouse. I wanted to be a monkey today, and the outhouse is one of the first places I wanted to see. As a monkey, it took me twice as long to get out.
Present tense: Now I'm at Elle's club, watching her stack presents under the Christmas trees. (I've since left the diner.) I don't know for sure, but I suspect this arrangement is for the Serbians, who celebrate it next month on the 7th. There's a heck of a lot of work and planning that goes into a club, including keeping track of how many Christmases there are.

SL/Real Estate

I have a sound effect in my inventory that I like to use for those situations when someone is away from the keyboard, or otherwise distracted. It is a weather alarm, with three ear-piercing beeping noises. Johnthomas used it on me when I was (Away) once, and I never forgot it. It is the easiest--if freakiest--way to summon someone quickly back to Second Life. I used it today on a real estate prospect, who drifted away as she stood on my property. Three blasts later she apologized, saying she'd been IMing friends and emailing acquaintances, and wondered what the weather was going to be like today/tomorrow.
I produced a storm cloud and wore it over my head. (Jenny made it for me.) The real estate market was soft, I told her. We ended up standing on the bottom land I'd sold a month earlier. "See that face" I said, pointing to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's face in the distance. "It greets us every sunrise in vibrant colors. The land is alive and special. Not to mention edible." I scooped up a handful and began eating it.
"You sick bastard," she said, backing up. "Let me call a doctor."
While waiting for the doctor, she explained that since my land had disowned me, basically, I was a "bastard," and since eating the land would surely sicken me, I was a "sick bastard."
True, I thought; beautifully expressed.
I mentioned to her the community pool. Surely it wasn't cursed, as far as I knew. It wasn't built on any burial grounds, either, except, due to the barbecue grill, it was a boneyard for countless chickens. "But that's because they were born that way--meaty," I explained. "There's nothing haunted about a departed chicken, either" I assured her (without her asking me to). Finally, I offered this rumination: "If only chickens weren't born with feathers to begin with..." At that point, I was thinking specifically about life without any feathers at all, and how much easier it would be. I expressed how much of a pain in the youknowwhat it was to render chicken apart from those pesky feathers. "Can we not just create a featherless chicken?" I demanded.
One of her IM friends apparently had an emergency at this point and she had to leave. I wished her well, but by the time "well" got out of my fingers, she was gone.
I wished her "well well" after she was gone.

SL/Illusions/Shopping at Bravo Bravo

Impressions
The first thing I realize is that I'm standing on a ledge; the teleporter actually lands you on a ledge, and it is up to you to frantically wave your arms, windmill-style, to keep from falling off. Then I noticed a guy looking at me. I couldn't leave the ledge, so I used my Zoom key to see what he was staring at. After a while it dawned on me he wasn't real. Neither was this series of him as a smaller guy. Who was 'this guy?' And why were there so many copies of him? And look: Here was an actual

carousel of him.
Upon further Zooming around I noticed a normal-sized person on the floor and realized that this guy was not only everywhere, he was HUGE.
Thankfully, JT teleported me where I'd meant to go all along: a shop called Bravo Bravo, where I got a mirror that, if you choose "Look" from its menu, makes it so you can see the world from the mirror's point of view. Kinda neat.
This is Johnthomas walking into the mirror's point of view (next to me). I have plenty of shots of JT's hand waving in front of the mirror (from offscreen), but this is the first one of Johnthomas on screen.
I asked JT if his lovely wife Amy would mind standing in front of the mirror so that I could see her from the mirror's perspective.
"If you know what I mean."

SL/Overheard

Survey Question #1

"In number of hours, do you spend more time in SL dressed or undressed?"

In other news...

JohnThomas remarked that he sees all kinds of mail boxes but there is no centralized post office in Second Life yet.

SL/Time for Intervention/Run on Sentence

Johnthomas, frantically typing with an Olympic torch in his hand, stops typing mid-sentence and goes (Away) for 12 seconds before resuming typing as though nothing had happened.

The Olympic torch may have come after his metal.
