SL/Attempt to locate Swamp Monster pt. 2

/

/
I went to Pappy Enoch's "office," expecting to find him there, but he wasn't in. Pappy's yard was basically empty; only his junk remained.
/
I invited Yetrates over for a quick stakeout.
It wasn't Pappy we were after, necessarily, it was the swamp monster he's been blogging about.
Pappy's been describing a swamp monster that's been harassing him and he's offered $100L for its pic (and to prove he hasn't been oversampling his own moonshine).
Speaking of shine, we found plenty of evidence that Pappy left in a hurry.

I didn't want to get near his still-hot still, though, for fear of boobytrappment. Although I did notice a sign welcoming "Stew-dints."

Out of the corner of my eye I saw water, then movement. I told Yet to turn around, expecting to see a swamp (and a swamp monster); instead we saw dolphins. I told Yetrates it was not out of the realm of possibilities to see dolphins in a swamp.
It was dark out, and we couldn't tell for sure, but Yetrates assured me we were looking at the ocean.
I reminded her that the Gulf-of-Mexico has about a million dolphins in it, and feeding into the Gulf is the Everglades, so it's very possible that dolphins could end up in a swamp.
I suggested we find out. The boat wasn't working, though, which led to brief stoner talk:

SL/420/Happy Tables

The tip is something you have to earn tonight. Read it.

Speaking of $$$

A good way to earn lindens would be to inch your way along a power line (tip-toeing). The powerline would occasionally sway in the wind, and you might not make it to other side. Also, it could rain at any moment, making you a fried possum. But the longer you stay on the powerline, the more you will earn.

Another way would be to hang around a fountain and when passers-by toss in coins you could dive after them. (This would all be legit, of course.) Several of you would be diving at once so it would resemble the Epiphany of the Greek Orthodox Church (except this one's for strict monetary gain). The scene could also look like a dolphin show, but instead of fish, you would surface with lindens in your teeth. You could dry off between dives and change outfits--possibly earning more lindens that way. Soon you would be in good enough (financial) shape to leave the fountain but why would you? The fountain is a really cool place to hang out.

I'd spotted this cutie in the casino and she was wearing a sandwich board, but when I moved in closer to read it, she took off running.

Later at the thinking lounge.

Trying to recall what the advertisement had said.

Vibes...

Someone asked me what the vibes were like here in Florida. I told him the vibes were incredible (and for me, essential).
Incredible vibes! Balmy and sunny and rainy and sandy. Hurricanes and Dolphins. It has both a strong Latin influence mixed with a decidedly Cracker influence. Blacks, whites, Hispanics, all living together. Jews and trailer trash. Baptists and Swamps and Space Shuttles. Three miles from where I live is the intersection of Ft. Harrison Avenue and Cleveland Street and that's where about a million Scientologists hang out.
Daytona 500 and Disney World. The Everglades and Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ray Charles and Jimmy Buffet and Princess Cruise Lines and sharks and a strong Canadian presence.
We also evacuate. In the meantime, we like our college football and sunsets (and sunrises) and spring breaks and foamy surf and giant cockroaches (NOT). We are home to lightning and pitbulls and pastel colors...

We like the vibes here, believe it or not, because there are about one-billion of them.
