SL/420/Happy Tables

A means for me to put down whatever rubbish happens to affect me at the time and to comment on today's news, when applicable. (Lately it's become more and more of a Second Life parable, though.)

Overheard...
"We had a bump and grind down at the Bach-Beethoven affair."
"I'm going to host an event where only good-looking bodies are allowed in pool."
Marketing Idea:
Perrier should get involved with SL because of all the beverages people walk around with. No one wants to see a Coke can at a party yet the sight of a classy Perrier bottle could make a big difference...
Song Title:
I Accidentally Right-Clicked the Wrong Person.
Lag Helper
I was chatting with someone on dance floor, and she's all the way across floor and I couldn't make her out. The crowd and the lag were making it impossible.
Suddenly, there's this laser in my face: She's beaming this red ruby light into my eyes from across the way. I see her now. She's holding laser pointer and (I think) smiling.
Turns out, it was an excellent device for aiding someone in laggy conditions.

Ponderable...
Would you feel comfortable in a dance club if a hot-looking girl compliments you and you know it could have something to do with her being an escort?
Advantages of being in a Bar with Zero Gravity:
Dancing could be dangerous. Bodies would literally slam against each other--which is the culmination I think of the dance craze.
Drinks would animate so when you tried to drink them the liquid would gush upwards.
Sex would probably be a challenge, since you'd likely have to rope your partner in.

SL/Still buzzing
These sexy billboards would be much better served, I think, if the lady broke away from the billboard and approached you and made her pitch directly to you (but only after you showed enough interest. For example, after three minutes of standing in front of the sign she suddenly ambled towards you).
This would be a shocking, but ultimately rewarding, experience--and it would go a long way towards getting virtual salespeople accepted as contributing members of society.
Overheard
"I'm here to see some skin...I don't care what kind of skin it is, as long as someone calls it skin."
"The crash made me re-log into the same club that I had just walked out on."
♫ ♫ Song snippets for Middle-of-Roaders:
I wrote out something I had regrets about and had to Backspace it away
The size of the angel's wings is not important.

This poor guy doesn't know what to think.
The Case of the Mysterious Floating Reefer.
It magically stays in air as long as Luch focuses on it.
Where did it go?
Luch is staring at it like it's on the cover of the album Presence.
The giant doobie ended up as a cane for a very attractive disabled cannabis angel who fluttered into view. Miracle of miracles!

SL/420/Fantasy Flight
I'd love to sit in the middle of a busy airplane (like a 747) and have drinks served to me, maybe an inflight movie, and some turbulance.
The stewardess would be wearing a skimpy stewardess outfit and I would be able to see the outline of her thong underwear. I would get popcorn served via a combo poporn/air-sickness bag that drops from the ceiling.
The only smoking would be from the complimentary joints the stewardess hands out.
We'd have permission to open the emergency doors and bail out with parachutes strapped to our backs. This would be for sport.
Meanwhile, a Mile-High Club would thrive in the restrooms. (New sex animations would have to be invented, especially for those cramped conditions.)
The inflight movie could only show airline disaster flicks.
Along the way, turbulance would occasionally rock the boat, forcing us to change seats. We would have new seat mates. Aisle-seaters would have window seats and vice versa. Those standing would be tossed all directions. New dance partners would be created!
The cockpit would not be off-limits. Every guy would be able to drool over the control panel. Every girl would be able to seduce the pilots.
[If the pilots were women, they could also be seduced.]
The scenery outside the windows would change according to the conditions. If it was rainy, then you might see lightning. If it was sunny, then you might see a UFO>>>>>
The meals on the aircraft would be barely edible. In fact, free lindens could be obtained by suffering through multiple airline meals.
The passenger who donates the most money at the end of the flight gets to have his/her bags carried out personally by the pilot.
---
New Group name:
The group above my head currently says: "Damn Crazy," which I am partial to.
Although this one would be tasteless: "Extremely Popular."

FREE (stoner) TIPS FOR ENTREPENOURS: to earn money, have them sweep around a metal detector and win random amounts.
Have search lights on your dance floor instead of regular lights, and when you look up there's guard towers.
ETHIQUESTION (Ethical question of the day): Upon entering a location, sometimes lag will cause you to not rez
someone in a timely fashion. Sometimes I see women without hair. I definitely see women without makeup. Is it wrong to take pics during this time? Is it unethical?

SL/Ghosts in immaterial world
This is a hobo camp where homeless people hang out (people without property).

Someone named Peet riding a moo-cow.
The centerpiece of the camp is a TV on the fritz.
Conversation works better when the reception isn't working.
(Someone getting warm sitting on TV.)
Believe it or not there was a ghost hovering around the entire time.
Second Life/Joint jousting
It was a battle of the joints as Jordan produced this massive one.
Whenever he 'connected,' the tip of his joint would blend into mine. So: If the tip of your joint becomes tie-dyed you are presumably extra extra sensory.

Traveling without consent
Like it or not, we are stuck on a rock going 67,000 miles per hour. Time and space move past us at a brilliant pace. We are forever marching forward; we are gliding through the universe. We are made up of components of the universe. Our neighboring planets, the Sun, and us are composed of a 'solar system,' and this 'solar system' spins around our galaxy at approximately 490,000 miles per hour. We share this galaxy with a multitude of other solar systems, all traveling the same astronomical speeds. Meanwhile, we earthlings continue to squabble over mundane things like oil and water. It puts our evolution into perspective...
---
We are forever marching through time and space. Over time our planet has even become its own interstellar vehicle. Who needs a man-made contraption to guide us through space when our own planet has done the job nicely? Over eons, Earth has picked up spores and spacedust and other panspermia as it travels through the endlessness of space. Our planet is fertile ground for an incomprehensible number of species. (No wonder we are allegedly checked out so regularly.)
We are space travelers, like it or not.
