SL/Yetti

Shit--and I don't say shit often--I just realized that the person in my bed was a gift from Jenny to represent Yetrates when she's absent. In fact, it's not a guy, after all; it's a woman, dummy: it's Yet. My angle had been off, sorry to report, and now I see the resemblance. I had casually mentioned to Jenny some months earlier that it would be nice to have a clone of Yetrates running around the place in the event the microwave needed cleaning, or something like that, and now I am gifted with a version of Yet permanently in bed.

It is nice knowing that Yetrates, or a facsimile thereof, is always in the house.

SL/Offworld/but smiling

It's good knowing somewhere out there a Dutch girl, Yetrates, is racing her heart out (and winning).

This page refreshes every few seconds. You can see it refresh at:

Yetrates sent me the link a few minutes ago (I'm offworld). Even though I'm offworld right now, I know the wonderful world of Second Life exists out there some place, and I smile.

Translation

Most Westerners are familiar with the Windows popup that gives you the chance to download Far Eastern characters, like Japanese or Chinese font. Here is a pic of the popup:

I don't know what is it about me, but I've never had Chinese characters on my harddrive. I'm now noticing it is a mere 2.7 MB to install them, so the next time I see this popup, I think I will.
I don't have Japanese font, either, so the following occurrence sent to me by Jenny was slightly out of whack to begin with:

[23:16] Jenny Delpaso: but dude walks up and he's japanese and tells me:

[23:16] Jenny Delpaso:
[23:12] You: just click anywhere and you should make abox
[23:12] xJenny:どこでもちょうどかちりと言う音及びあなたは箱を作るべきである[23:13] Ikazuchi5656 Karas:すみませ。これから子供を迎えに行かなければならないので、
[23:13] Ikazuchi5656's Interpreter: Finish it. Because you must go to it to meet a child from now on,
[23:13] Ikazuchi5656 Karas:時間がありません。
[23:13] Ikazuchi5656's Interpreter: There is nottime.

What she is talking about is: she met a Japanese guy who has a built-in interpreter that would translate, on the spot, his thoughts into English. She thought that this was creepy. Also, his 'creepy' thoughts got whacked out of shape, further, from one harddrive to another, because I don't have Japanese characters installed on mine. I wonder if this conversation occurred slightly differently on her harddrive, in her world, or displays differently for you, if you have them installed, in your world?

I will ask her this next time I see her.

Voice inside my Head (DJ Elle)

In real life I am a complete incompetent when it comes to the ladies. On Second Life, I am the incomplete competent person I've always wanted to be. That is good enough for the ladies, fortunately.
The ladies...

How do I love them, let me divine the ways...

ELLE (DJ Kirshner)

One half of your name for my left ear, the other for my right. EL LE. I hear you on my headset. I love hearing you in my head. Your voice inside--mah head.
Sunshine.
That laugh is probably the hookiest thing ever. It hooked me in and in and in. That laugh is like a fishing reel. Hahahahahaha.

Wait, is that Milo?

hahahahahahahah

Yes, that is Milo.

Hahahahahaha.

Nope, that isn't him.

Is that you, Elle?

"I remember you from my days of zooming in."

SL/Wrath Paine

Wrath Paine and I had a nice chat tonight and talked about the Alamo, drinking V-8s while stoned (as in bloody marys, without alcohol), his dog Misery, yak burgers and steaks, the fake presidential election, British-isms, sounding out punctuation, and some guy in my bed, all within 30 minutes. The guy in my bed was planted by Jenny, the prankstress, who thinks it's funny to have strange women come over and discover a guy in my bed. The guy's name was Stewart.

It was very difficult explaining Stewart to Gia.
